Update your sales pipeline during calls

Most people work a list in two passes: the calls, then an evening of writing down what happened. In DialRidge the call and the record are the same screen, so the second pass goes away.

Short version: you can update your sales pipeline during calls, while the person is still on the line. In DialRidge the call and the contact record are one screen, so the outcome, the stage, the note and the callback are all set before you hang up.

The two-pass problem

Most people work a list in two passes: make the calls, then spend the evening writing down what happened.

The second pass is where the pipeline goes stale. You remember the good conversations. You don’t remember which of the forty you need to ring back on Tuesday. The notes live somewhere other than the call, so they wait until you have time for them.

One screen for the call and the record

When the lead came from one of your contacts, the Dialer shows a notice while the call is live: “Linked contact — updates and notes save to their record.” That line is the point. What you do next goes onto the contact, not onto a scrap of paper.

While you are still talking, you can:

  1. Set the outcome

Pick the Outcome that fits the call. Close out each call lists every one.

  2. Move them a stage

Press Advance. It is one button, and it moves the contact into whatever stages you named. You set those names and their order under Settings › CRM & pipeline — see Your pipeline.

  3. Type the note

Write it in the Note field while the detail is fresh, in your own words.

  4. Drop a callback on the date they asked for

Press Add callback and choose the date. If they said Tuesday, the callback is on Tuesday.

Current when you hang up

With all four done during the call, there is no evening pass. Your funnel is current when you hang up, not when you get around to it. The next morning you are not reconstructing who said what; the callbacks you owe are already dated, and the stages already show where everyone stands. For how contacts and stages fit together, see Manage your contacts.

You still have to click

Nothing moves anyone along on its own, and it shouldn’t. Every outcome, stage change, note and callback is something you press or type. DialRidge puts those controls on the call screen so you can do it in the moment; it does not decide for you.

Try it on your next call

Open the Dialer, take a call from a contact in your list, and see how much of the evening you get back.
