DialRidge runs in your browser. There is nothing in an app store and nothing to download. You install it by telling your phone or your computer to keep it — which takes one tap — and then you turn on the microphone, which is the one step people actually get wrong.
Opens the app and asks your browser to install DialRidge. No app store, no download.
- 1Install it — one tap above, or the manual route for your device below.
- 2Sign in — password, Google, or a login link by email.
- 3Allow the microphone — choose Allow, not “Allow this time.” This is the step that decides whether calls work.
- 4Call your own mobile once — before you load a lead list, not after.
Your session lives in the browser's local storage, and a private window throws that away on close. You will be signed out mid-session, and on some phones the microphone permission is wiped with it.
1. Install it
Installing gets you an icon that opens DialRidge full screen with no address bar in the way. On a phone that matters: the keypad and the outcome buttons both need to be reachable with a thumb. On a laptop it means a dedicated window you cannot close by accident while clearing tabs.
Tap Install DialRidge above and your browser handles the rest. If your browser does not offer it — or you would rather do it by hand — find your device here:
Safari only. Three taps.
GoogleChrome or Samsung Internet.
ComputerChrome, Edge or Safari.
iPhone and iPad
This has to be done in Safari. Chrome and Firefox on iOS cannot add a site to the Home Screen — Apple does not give them the option. If you normally use Chrome on your phone, open Safari just for this part; once the icon exists you can forget about it.
- Open
app.dialridge.appin Safari - Tap Share
The square with the arrow pointing up, in the bar at the bottom. If the bar is hidden, tap once near the bottom of the screen to bring it back.
- Scroll to Add to Home Screen
It sits below the row of sharing apps, near Add Bookmark and Find on Page.
- Shorten the name to DialRidge, then tap Add
The icon lands on your last Home Screen page. Drag it into your dock, next to the phone app.
Android
- Open
app.dialridge.appin Chrome - Tap the three-dot menu, top right
- Tap Install app
Older versions read Add to Home screen instead. Same result.
- Confirm with Add
Then Add automatically if Android offers to place the icon for you.
Samsung Internet works too: menu › Add page to › Home screen.
Windows and Mac
| Browser | What to click |
|---|---|
| Chrome Windows, Mac, ChromeOS | The install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar. If it is not showing: three-dot menu › Cast, save, and share › Install page as app. |
| Microsoft Edge Windows, Mac | Three-dot menu › Apps › Install this site as an app. Tick Pin to taskbar on the confirmation. |
| Safari Mac, Sonoma or newer | File › Add to Dock. The app then opens in its own window, with its own microphone permission — you will be asked again the first time you dial from it. |
| Firefox | No install option exists. The dialer works normally in a tab — right-click the tab and choose Pin Tab so it stays put. |
2. Sign in
Three ways in, all landing on the same account:
- Email and password — the default. Your workspace is created with the built-in DialRidge CRM already connected.
- Continue with Google — one tap if your business email is Gmail or Google Workspace. Nothing is posted to your Google account; it is used only to confirm who you are.
- Email me a login link — good on a phone, where typing a long password is a chore. Single-use, and it expires shortly after it is sent.
Signing up with Google one day and an email password the next is how people end up with two separate workspaces and wonder where their contacts went. Forgot the password? Use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen rather than starting over.
3. Turn on the microphone — the step that matters
DialRidge places calls through your browser. That is the whole point: no softphone to install, no desk phone to configure. But it means the browser has to be allowed to use your microphone, and it only asks once. Get this wrong and the app looks completely normal and places calls nobody can hear you on.
- Open the Dialer tab and call your own mobile
The permission prompt appears on the first call, not before.
- Choose Allow — not “Allow this time”
On Chrome and Edge, pick the option that remembers. “Allow this time” means you get prompted again next session, and a prompt that appears mid-dial will drop the call.
- Plugged in a headset after opening the browser? Reload once
The browser picks up the microphone list when the page loads. A headset added later is invisible until you refresh.
- Listen for ringback
You should hear the line ring in your headset before the other side picks up. Ringback means audio is flowing both ways — that is your green light.
Blocked it by accident? Chrome and Edge: click the icon to the left of the address bar › Site settings › Microphone › Allow, then reload. iPhone: Settings › Safari › Microphone. On a Mac, also check System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone and confirm your browser is switched on there — macOS blocks it a level above the browser, and the browser cannot tell you that.
Bluetooth adds a beat of latency on connect and occasionally hands the microphone back to the laptop mid-call. On a heavy dialing day, a cheap wired USB headset is the single biggest call-quality upgrade available to you.
4. What each tab does
| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Contacts | Your lead database. Filter by status or tag, search, add by hand, or import a CSV. Save any filter as a list you can load straight into the dialer. |
| Callbacks | Every promised call-back in one open list. Mark them done as you clear them. |
| Dialer | Where you work. Load a list, dial, hear it ring, talk, log the outcome. No answer? One tap texts them. |
| Messages | Every text in and out, with delivery status, matched to the contact it belongs to. |
| Calls | The call log — who, when, how long, and the outcome you logged. |
| Usage | Minutes and message segments against your plan, plus anything metered beyond it, updated as you dial. No end-of-month surprises. |
| Settings | Your phone numbers and your CRM connection. Covered in the next two guides. |
5. If something is not working
| Symptom | Almost always |
|---|---|
| No Add to Home Screen on iPhone | You are in Chrome, not Safari. Only Safari can do it on iOS. |
| No install button in Chrome on desktop | Give the page a few seconds — Chrome decides a site is installable after it loads. Then use the three-dot menu route above. |
| Call connects, nobody can hear you | Microphone blocked, or the browser is using the laptop's built-in mic while you talk into a headset. Reload after plugging in. |
| You hear them, they cannot hear you | The headset's own mute switch, usually the one on the cable. Check hardware before software. |
| Signed out every time you come back | Private/incognito window, or a browser set to clear site data on exit. |
| Dialer loads but the call never starts | No phone number is attached to your account yet. Settings › Telephony — see the two guides below. |
| Everything is slow on a phone | Close the browser tabs still open behind the Home Screen icon. The softphone wants the foreground. |
Still stuck? Email hello@dialridge.com with your device, your browser, and what you see. A screenshot of the error saves a round trip.
