Link Agile CRM to DialRidge

Three fields and your calls, texts and notes start landing on the right Agile contact automatically. Plus the daily API ceiling on Agile's free plan that catches dialer users out.

Short version: Agile CRM connects with three values — your Agile domain, the email you sign into Agile with, and your REST API key. Paste them into Settings › CRM and DialRidge starts matching every call and text to the right Agile contact and writing the activity back. Total time: about five minutes. The one thing to check before you scale is Agile's daily API limit, which a dialer can hit faster than you would expect.

What you will need

1. Find your Agile API key

  1. Sign into Agile CRM
  2. Open Admin Settings

The gear icon, bottom-left of the Agile sidebar.

  3. Go to Developers & API
  4. Copy the REST API key

It is a short alphanumeric string in the REST API section. Unlike a lot of API keys, Agile will show it to you again later, so you are not in trouble if you lose it.

Use an admin user, not a shared login

The key inherits the permissions of the user it belongs to. If that user is later deactivated — an assistant leaves, say — the connection stops working and your call logging goes quiet without an obvious error. Tie it to an account that will outlive the staffing.

2. Connect it in DialRidge

  1. Open Settings › CRM

You will see the CRMs DialRidge supports, each with a status pill.

  2. Choose Agile CRM

Agile uses an API key rather than a sign-in redirect, so you get a short form instead of a pop-up window.

  3. Enter your domain, email and API key

Domain is just the subdomain — seery, not https://seery.agilecrm.com.

  4. Hit Connect

DialRidge makes a live call to Agile to verify the credentials before saving them. A green status pill means it worked. If the credentials are wrong you find out now rather than after a day of unlogged calls.

Connecting Agile makes it your active CRM. Your DialRidge contacts stay exactly where they are — nothing is deleted, and you can disconnect later without losing history.

3. What syncs, and when

When this happensDialRidge does this in Agile
A call connects, inbound or outboundLooks up the contact by phone number, so you see who you are talking to before you say hello.
A call endsLogs the call against that contact — direction, duration, and the outcome you selected.
You log an outcome or add a noteWrites the note onto the Agile contact.
A text goes out or comes inMatches it to the contact and records it, with delivery status.
A call comes from a number with no contactFlags it as unmatched in the Messages tab, where you can link it to an existing contact or create a new one in one click.
A recording is availableAttaches it to the logged activity, subject to your plan's retention window.

Matching is by phone number, so the quality of your Agile phone data is the quality of your matching. It is worth spending twenty minutes normalising numbers in Agile before you connect — consistent formatting, country code present, mobile in the mobile field.

4. The daily API ceiling — check this before you scale

This is the part that surprises people. Agile CRM's free plan allows 500 API calls per day and 1,000 contacts. A dialer is API-hungry by nature: roughly two API calls per dial, one to look the contact up and one to write the activity back.

Do the arithmetic before your first heavy day

500 API calls a day is on the order of 250 dials before Agile stops accepting writes. A serious power-dialing session clears that before lunch. When the ceiling is hit, Agile rejects further calls until the daily window resets — your calls still connect and are still logged inside DialRidge, but they stop reaching Agile until the next day.

Two ways to stay under it. Move to a paid Agile tier, which raises the ceiling substantially — Agile's paid plans start under $10 per user per month and go up from there. Or use DialRidge's built-in CRM for dialing and keep Agile for the parts of your business that are not outbound calling.

5. Or skip Agile entirely

DialRidge ships with its own CRM, and it is the default on a new account. It is not a stub — contacts with status, owner, company, tags and custom fields; a unified timeline of every call, text, note and callback on a contact; callback tasks; CSV import; and saved lists you can load straight into the dialer in one click.

It has no daily API ceiling, because nothing is going over an API. If Agile is something you inherited rather than something you love, dialing straight out of the built-in CRM is faster and cheaper. Nothing stops you connecting Agile later.

6. Other CRMs

Agile CRM is the connector available today, alongside the CRM built into every account. GoHighLevel, HubSpot and Zoho are in progress — they plug into the same adapter, so when they land they will sync the same things: contact matching by phone, call logging, notes, status updates and callback tasks. Until then, use Agile or the built-in CRM.

All of them sit behind the same internal adapter, which is the reason we can add one without changing anything about how you dial. If the CRM you use is not on the list, tell us at hello@dialridge.com — that list is how we pick what to build next.

Troubleshooting

SymptomAlmost always
Connect fails straight awayThe domain field has the full URL in it. It wants just the subdomain.
Connect fails with the right domainEmail and API key are from different Agile users, or the key was copied with a trailing space.
Connected, but nothing appears in AgileYou have probably hit the daily API limit. Check whether it starts working again tomorrow — if it does, that is your answer.
Calls log against the wrong contactTwo Agile contacts share a phone number. Merge them in Agile.
Calls log against no contactThe number in Agile is formatted differently from the number dialed. Normalise the Agile record.
Worked for months, then stoppedThe Agile user the key belongs to was deactivated, or the key was regenerated. Reconnect with a current key.
